Using Head Movement

چکیده
This paper presents a methodology for automatically identifying human actions in either the frontal or the lateral view. By tracking the movement of the head of the subject over successive frames of a monocular grayscale image sequence, we recognize 1.2 different actions. The head is segmented automatically an each frame, and the feature vectors extracted. Input sequences captured from a fixed CCD camera are matched against stored models of actions. The system uses the nearest neighbor classifier to identify the test action.

Study of the Persistence Effect of two Exercises Controlling the Scapula and Corrective Movements on Neck Pain and Angle of Head in Males with forward Head
Introduction: The scapula movement control disorder is an important factor in the incidence of upper limb abnormalities that influences sensory-motor control. There is a dearth of research on the persistence effects of training exercises. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the persistence effects (after six months) of two exercises controlling the scapula and corrective movemen...
متن کاملObjective measurement of head movement differences in children with and without autism spectrum disorder
Background Deficits in motor movement in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have typically been characterized qualitatively by human observers. Although clinicians have noted the importance of atypical head positioning (e.g. social peering and repetitive head banging) when diagnosing children with ASD, a quantitative understanding of head movement in ASD is lacking. Here, we conduct a...
متن کاملEffect of Aquatic and Land–base Plyometric Exercise on Selected Biomechanical Parameters of Butterfly Swimming in Elite Male Adolescent Swimmers10-14 years
Introduction and Purpose: The swimming start is very important for achieving better results in competitions. The Purpose of this study was to compare the effects of two plyometric training techniques both in aquatic and on land in two start techniques (grab and track) of butterfly swimming in Elite male adolescent Swimmers.Methodology: 20 elite male swimmers divided into two groups of plyome...
متن کاملPotential and optimal control of human head movement using Tait-Bryan parametrization
Human head movement can be looked at, as a rotational dynamics on the space SO(3) with constraints that have to do with the axis of rotation. Typically the axis vector, after a suitable scaling, is assumed to lie in a surface called Donders’ surface. Various descriptions of Donders’ surface are in the literature and in this paper we assume that the surface is described by a quadratic form. We p...
متن کاملEvaluation of Head Movement Periodicity and Irregularity during Locomotion of Caenorhabditis elegans
Caenorhabditis elegans is suitable for studying the nervous system, which controls behavior. C. elegans shows sinusoidal locomotion on an agar plate. The head moves not only sinusoidally but also more complexly, which reflects regulation of the head muscles by the nervous system. The head movement becomes more irregular with senescence. To date, the head movement complexity has not been quantit...
متن کاملPenguin head movement detected using small accelerometers: a proxy of prey encounter rate.
Determining temporal and spatial variation in feeding rates is essential for understanding the relationship between habitat features and the foraging behavior of top predators. In this study we examined the utility of head movement as a proxy of prey encounter rates in medium-sized Antarctic penguins, under the presumption that the birds should move their heads actively when they encounter and ...
